You've defeated the entire purpose of the game...
The ENTIRE purpose of the original Parappa, what TRULY makes it stand out, is that you don't have to do the notes EXACTLY as they appear. You're a rapper, so you freestyle and put a variation on what you're given. Chop Chop Master Onion might say "Kick punch chop block," but you can say "kick kick punch punch chop block chop block" and gets points for originality.
On TOP of that, the button input seems to be very off, Parappa's audio doesn't vary depending on button input, and the sound effects are missing (when your rating goes up and down).
And, honestly, I see no purpose in this. Maybe if you had made the entire game into an 8-bit version I'd be able to go easier on you, but you didn't. You took the hardest level in the game, placed it by itself (out of context), and stripped it of all originality.
You've taken away the very essence of one of my favorite games, and I find this action to be completely deplorable.
Now, that being said, this isn't ALL horrible. The 8-bit art style is cool, I didn't really see any fault or cracks in the progression of the visuals, I liked the menus, and the rocket video you substituted in for the actual one wasn't too bad.
And you seem pretty talented... but that makes me wonder: why the hell are you wasting that talent on an 8-bit, flash version of a SINGLE level from Parappa the Rapper? :/
Good day.
